got a price on the GMPP Vortec TBI intake....
I got the price from teh guy that helps me out at the local dealer...my price for the intake was $335 and he said it will take 2 days to get, but he doenst know how long till it actually gets ordered.
but that price of $335 though is my price, as in thats not the normal price. i am assuming that the "normal" price is like 400 - i think i saw "$409" on the screen, but i didnt get a chance to look at whether or not that was the list price.
little pricey for me, but its still kinda cool.

Z-28, I got a price of $329 from SDPC yesterday. They have recieved one so far and expect to get more in the future. If it is a bolt on for my car, I am ordering one with a crate vortech. If it takes a bunch of mods to make it work, its not worth it for me........bob

i dunno man...it just seems like a damn high price. the other thread i made about it someone said they saw it and that it looked just like an edelbrock one, and that they werent impressed with it. im still undecided though.

FYI. DEALER COST. = Scoggin dickey, etc... retail price.
this is because these guys get discounts when they buy because they are performance parts dealers. my parents dealership bought vortec 350 heads for 209 a peice. what are they from scoggin or others?? about that price.

z/28, I see you are already set up with the vortec engine and as I recall I saw your site and read about the hassel it was to get everything working with the edelbrock carb manifold. Given that you already went through all of that I wouldn't switch to the TBI version. The only reason I am doing it is cause it looks pretty easy and most of my stuff will bolt up and for the extra $200 on the manifold I think I will make up for it in time saved. Not sure how much performance if any I will lose over the carb intake version. Anyway, I'm gonna do it so will let you guys know how it goes.
One thought though, the Vortec crate engine makes its Hp and torque mostly below 6,000 rpm which seems like a good way to go for TBI.
It will sure be a lot better than the caprice LO5 I was gonna do.........bob

Damn, you guys beat me to it! However, I sent a mail to Jim Pace about it and they sent me one back with $306 as a price. They said the three holes up front are for the EGR.

Question:
Does the GM piece have the standard size bores. I think I heard that the Holley adapters have larger bores. Does it matter?
If not I say keep it simple and go without an adapter.

Snuf, the Vortec heads are only $209 or so from SDPC... They (SDPC) cannot be beat... Are your parents paying that much for them from GM??? Somethin ain't right. They should by from SDPC and get SDPC's volume discount and they'll even be cheaper!!!
You never got back to me on the OEM 2" Rochester TBI unit, by the way. Still waiting for your reply on getting one.
ON TO the poster's topic, NO, I do not think that manifold is worth it. I would go RPM Air-Gap with an adapter plate that is custom cut to match carb pod outer dim's so it doesn't look all bulky.
