There was really nothing to it. I just used a Dremel moto tool and a high speed cutter to cut a hole in the bottom of the air cleaner big enough for the filter to sit on and chunked the excess. Put it and the filter on the throttle body and bolted the top on and that was it. Took about 30 minutes and saved money I don't have. How's that for a kickass tech article. Pretty plain jane, but simpler is better as long as it works.

Another way to do it is cut out 2x2 squares on the sides. But cutting out the part not covering the filter works too. Next get yourself a 350 truck filter, it's an inch higher then the stocker. And you know that black ring on the air cleaner bust remove it, there's 4 spot welds holding it in place. That's budget speed at it's best.
