testing fuel pressure...

I have a fuel pressure test kit for my 86 TPI. How would you adapt it to test on my 89 TBI?

An adapter at the throttle body inlet?

Yeah, either put it there using some adapters or you could put it where the hard lines connect to the rubber lines. I put one inline in the rubber lines.
