Crate 305
Crate 305
does this exist? when i bought my car it had a new engine in it the guy i bought it from got it from gm and had a receipt to prove it but the listing was faded and very vauge.he spent $3,000 on the engine and install. if this is a new engine and not a rebuild what are the chances that it is the same specs as stock lo3?
I'd like to see this answered myself. I just bought an 85 T/A with a "crate 350". Block looks new enough, but I have no idea about specs or the cam. The previous owner wasn't exactly a gearhead, but he seemed to do okay. My reciepts show about 3200 for engine + install.

A very good chance, I think they still make 3 305 crate motors. One is a truck vortec, one is the L03, and another is a universal type replacment for the '86 and back engines.
There is an ID number on the front of the engine. A dealer should be able to tell you what it is using this number. Same goes for any SBC.
