programming vs. modifacation

after i installed a k&n, and a edelbrock TES, i noticed if i was getting on it, when i pulled to a stop, i would get a rough idle, but if im just cruzing at light throttle, and pull to a stop, my idle is silky smooth. i feel like my PROM program doesnt quite match my combination. since my engine is running more efficiently at higher rpm, i think the ECM is trying to addjust, but has no real way to adjust the upper rpm with out adjusting the lower as well. and im wondering how you guys handle this, since your mods are even more extreme than mine. do you just put up with it, or do you somehow change the programming?

That sounds kinda funky. I would have no Idea what would cause that, but you computer should adjust imidiatly to an idle condition the same way it adjust to full throttle condition from part thrttle or idle.
What I do know is that getting the equipment to program and learning how to do it will pay off big time in the future when you do more mods or custom program for the ones you have now.
good luck in finding what is the deal with you car. Maybe it has something todo woth the extra heat that the engine makes under hard acceleration? Just a thought, doubt that has anything to do with it though.

everytime i do any mods the first thing i do is go back and play with the timing. it is the first thing that gets messed up with our ecm's for some reason.

Iknow what ya mean with the rough idle after running hard, my bird did that after I put my 8.8's, and splitfires in it. Ijust put up with it because it didnt affect driveability or power, however since I put in my chip I havent had the problem, so it might have something to do with the programming somewere
