everybody read this.....
well over the past few weeks my car has gotten to be a little sick(aka slow) so i took it to the Doctor and he said a "little" shot would make thing better. so i went and get some stuff to make it feel better.
Here is the list:
LT1 cam
vortec heads(L30)
454 TB(not yet installed, it only has 1 of the 3 linkage studs)
super victor vortec intake
and added a 3" cowl hood.
its almost done.only a few ends to finish up.(vacume lines and such) but there is one thing that i just cant think of how to make work.
how do i run the TB linkage!!! the TB is MUCH higher then before. so add you ideals. i need help!

A super Victor....
If you ask me it's a bit ( i mean A LOT) of an overkill. Are you running a 305 or 350? And, do you plan on driving on the street. I ask becuase you are going to kill you low end torque with that manifold. I it were me, I'd sell it and get a performer RPM.
But, if you plan on racing only, it would be ok. AAlthough your going to need ignition (with rev limiter to keep your rpms up when you luanch). A healthy bottom end, not to mention a different cam. The LTI cam won't work well with that intake. Last but not least, you won't flow enough through a tbi. Not to mention no vacuum for youe brakes!
Your pretty much barking up the wrong tree. That manifold is going to create a world of problems for you. With parts, bigger isn't always better.
I'm not trying to flame you, I don't want to see you waste your time with that intake, It's going to give you drivability nightmares.

here is how i did my linkage.

i just got a peice of 1/8" steel. cut it out. drill some holes. Then i drilled out the stud/rivit that was already on the 454 linkage plus another.(the top two) and used holley carb linkage studs to bolt my peice to the 454 linkage, it all hooks up and is adjustable, the line down the center was my verticle mark.
hope that helps

I, too, believe that manifold is overkill. It CAN work, but not as well as a dual plane, especially with your cam/head combo. I rec a Performer(<350hp), RPM(350-450hp) or RPM AirGap(350-450hp).
But, your combo will look pretty darn cool... PROM changes are in order, my friend. Have fun!

o, and btw, if you are ok with a welder. you could grind off the the stamped metal, at the end of the linkage in the center, on both tbi's and then just swap that peice (the linkage peices with the studs on em), and re-teck weld it to the shaft. this to me was too much work at the time, and im not the best with a welder.
and some other issues, youll need to get one of holleys linkage studs with the cotter pin, for your throttle cable. your cruise will be fine, but youll have to shave the head of the other linkage bolt for your tranny kickdown cables little platic end, to slip over and lock to the holley linkage bolt's head.
if you need any help, just email me, snflupigus@aol.com
