Are aftermarket heads worth the money on a LO3?
I have an 89 Firebird with a 305 TBI. I have installed a edlebrock headers and a 3 inch Flowmaster Exhaust and no cat. I have an edlebrock tbi intake as well as march pulleys and thermomaster chip with a 160 degree stat. I also have the stock converter as well as 2.73 gears. I need to replace the valve seals on my heads so I was wondering if should just replace them with stock heads and have them ported or if I should go with the vortec or possibly the World heads? I want to get the most for my money. If I got vortec heads and 1.6 ratio roller rockers could I get into the high 14's. I need some advice, please help.

if you get vortec heads you will need a vortec intake. Also I am not sutre but I think a 58cc cumbustion chamber is ideal for our cars and keeps the compression ratio right where we need it

i have been very happy with my heads. the nice thing about putting good heads on your 305 is that whenever you rebuild the motor or go to a larger displacement small block you already have them.
i use the edelbrock performer centerbolts on my car. they saved about 45lbs over the stockers and can flow enough to support over 400hp whenever i do build a bigger motor.
