91 305 tbi with dual snorkel air cleaner questions?

i am considering gettting one but i have a few questions first. #1. will i have to relocate anything in order to put this on? #2. will my current K+N filter work with this? #3 i think i know the answer but will this affect emmisions at all?

Ok, it shouldn't effect emissions, I don't know anything about the relocation thing, and I think your current K&N should work.

But, I would point you towards an open element. They are cheaper(i did mine for a total of $70 including k&n with parts from advanced auto), give better performance, and pretty easy to install. There is a tech article on it. If you do the open element, I would remove the spacer ring and do a 14x3 non-drop base. your current filter won't work with this.

I have the dual snorkel (not on because it doesn't fit with the new engine) and it was nice. I spent like $80 on the thing and I just like the look of it and I'm building a cold air intake so I'm keeping the thing. Since you have the newer style heating hose and smog pump crap, you'll have to move it. The passengers side snorkel hits the little POS box so you'll need to unbolt that and push it over to the strut tower. This might effect emissions since you're unhooking the AIR pump but I would think you could still pass if you have a stock engine. An open element would be cheaper but you'd need to get a new air filter element. The dual snorkel uses the same as the stock setup, even uses the stupid spacer ring because it's a drop base. I sugest going with an open element from Summit for $20 (free shipping and no tax). This will be cheaper and better in the long run since you already said you were going to get a new hood.
When I get my cowl hood I'm going to do the extreame lid sealed off from the engine bay and use the HO air cleaner to suck in cold air from either side of the air dam . Plans plans plans, just need to make each day 36 hours and I'd have plenty of time.
