How do I improve better off the line response?

I'm sure this has been asked tons of times, but I'm kind of in a rush so I dont feel like looking to see if i can find an answer...anyway. I already have an open air filter and was wondering if there was any other "cheap" mods to improve off the line response. When i say cheap, i dont mean like crap, ya know? Anyway, any advice welcome

I have yet to do it....but make your FPR adjustable and bump it up a bit. Also bump up the base timing too.

The Vortec V6 S-10 pickups and c4 vets came with a 2000-2100 rpm lockup converter.

I picked a rebuilt one up for around $100 a couple of years ago. Its a bunch of work to swap a converter but you will really notice the aditional 500 rpm of stall off the line. Not bad bang for the buck if you run an automatic.

Another option would be to see if you can pick up a good used rear with posi and 3.42 gears... you have what? 2.73's? I've seen used thirdgen rears going for $100-$400.

i would say gears that is what i plan on doing. changing from weak 2.73's peg leg to 3.42's and posi plan on doing it over the summer and i payed 40 for the gears 100 for the posi and 100 for the install kit and its going to cost me a 30 pack of budweiser to install them.

Actually, I wouldn't risk paying for any internal parts that wear as they are used. Gears and Differntials being in that category. I have learned my lesson from before. Go to www.slponline.com and get there take-off differnitals. I love mine and have no problems with it at all. And there only 74.95+shipping. And I would recommend GM Motive gears. Richmonds tend to whine sometimes. And my Richmonds did whine and now I have GM Motives and they never whine. Oh and make sure the gears are carrier 3's and so is the differnital u decide to go with.

Just some healthy advice.
