Port/Polishing stock TB
Well heres my thoughts, doing some reading and searches. I have found that the stock TB is a 550cfm. Well right now the project is my friends 89 RS Camaro, which has the stock 305 but we're tossing that i have a 350 in the garage for him. Rather than buying a holley 670 i wanted to know if there was enough material to work with in the stock TB to port/polish it out to match that or atleast come very close. I do realize that means bigger butterflys, etc. Also the intake manifold is another question I had, how much more does the edelbrock performer intake outflow the stock, and can it be ported to match. Thank you

I got an Xtremefi 46mm tbi unit off of ebay.If you send him a core depending on the condition he'll give you a credit. It is just a standard unit bored out.it works quite well. The edelbrock manifold can be safely bored out to 50mm to get some extra air in.I know I did it with good results.

My project is very similar -- upgrading a tbi 305, to
a strong streetable 350, retaining the TBI control system.
Not to sound like a smart-*** -- anything is possible, but
what is the cost-benefit analysis?
All the comments I've heard about the Edel. 3704 TBI
manifold are positive. Not sure about $350 worth new,
but patience can e-bay one for $100 - $150.
The "Ultimate TBI" mods are very insightful, & the author
is well-respected on the board. But to really improve flow
will mean increasing the bore, and new butterflies, as you
indicate. Do you have access to good machine facilities,
and are competent to get it right the first time? If not,
then a Holley, or some other unit may really be cost-effective.
Checkout XtremeFI on e-bay -- been around many years,
with good feed-back.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
