Fuel pressure gauge setup
Fuel pressure gauge setup
How would one go about setting up a fuel pressure gauge to the throttle body system? It would be nice tro know what my engines fuel pressure is running at all the time
From using the search I see that most Fbodys have rubber fuel lines that connect to hard line in the engine compartment this is a great place to splice in a fuel pressure gage. Our trucks don't have rubber line under the hood. I bought a 15 pound Summit gage and their T fitting. I just haven't figured out if cutting the hard line before the TB and splicing in two short sections of rubber hose is a bad idea. I believe that with the low pressure of the TBI system you can use regular rubber fuel line. Some people advise against splicing, but then again thats how most people mount up an aftermarket carb. Anyone else have any advice?

I took off the inlet rubber line that connects to the hard line. Then took it along with a barbed tee fitting (two barbs and a 1/8 NPT) to a hose supplier and had them cut it and crimp the tee in place. My pressure sensor mounts to the tee, and runs to the Autometer A-pillar mounted electronic gauge. The box mounted under the dash behind the drivers side kick panel right next to where the hood release handle goes through the firewall. My only mistake was getting the 0-100 psi gauge. I was planning on mounting it to my TPI car at the time. Good luck, Lon.
