Bad Rings or Guides, or maybe just o2 sensor

hey guys, I can not tell which one it is, rings, or valve guides or maybe im just running really rich cause my o2 sensor has not been changed in a while. Please help, how can I tell
I have a 305TBI. I need to pass reinspection by the 14th. Thanks ALOT!!

What exactly is the engine doing? Is it smoking bad out the tailpipes,sucking gas,using oil?

Well the car sucks gas, doesnt have very good gas milage, uses oil, and it does smoke when i first start it and when idling and give it gas it will smoke. I hope its just the o2 sensor or the valve seals. Thanks alot

That sounds like oil getting past the rings.If thats the case,amild rebuild would do the trick and possiblely cheap if you can do it your self.

SOunds to me like you need to do a compresion check and a leakdown test to find out the internal condition of your motor. Speculation at this point is useless. Get some facts and go from there.
