okay, what could be the prob?

i know ive posted a couple times already today but need the car goin good tonight. okay, well the timing will only be set at 0 base any advance at all and it hotstarts, and after running a couple minutes the car surges bad at idle under load and will die out, and takes a minute to start. If the thing is advanced i am lucky it even starts at all. what could it possibly be? i put in the compucam yesturday, ran good last night but today this crap happens. other than the surge at idle, under load, the car runs great, no misses, just not to much in the power department, unless its advanced, which i cant do because it hotstarts when it dies, I really need some help on this tonight, you guys at this board always have good answers, and thanx for any help I get
-also is there anyway I can adjust the idle on the TBI, because I think if I can just up it up it'll be ok

you need to advance the timing whenever the cam gets bigger. with the engine warm just advanc eit until it smotths out. you will feel a noticable gain.
the only reason that it with warm up ok is that our computers advance the timing during warm up to help get heat intothe block. after that initial it will start to fall off.

I hope you aren't advancing the distrib with the tan wire plug still connected. If so, that could be your problem. I don't know the effects but that won't be an accurate base timing reading.

the est is disconnected when i adjust, but if I advance more than 1 degree when the car dies (during the surge), it hotstarts and doesnt want to fire back up. Is it possible that my dist might be 1 tooth off? I am getting tired of shifting to neutral when i stop to have to car kep running smooth, plus it feels like theres not much power, or at least not more than it had to begin with
