Is lowering Compression bad?
There are some L98 heads for sale with a compression of 64cc, will this be lowering my compression or raising it, and is either bad, cause I have bad valve guides and need new heads. Thanks

Take them to a good automotive machine shop and have them milled (about .04 to .045) to 58cc chambers, and have the intake surface of the head milled too so the intake will match up ok.

Going from 58cc to 64cc will lower the compression about .5 points. It's better for cheap gas.
Bad for performance.
Although not REAL bad. The better flow of the heads (depending on what you have now) might make up for the difference, plus some (maybe). But then it would be a waste of time and money.
About the only thing where "the ends would justify the means", would be if your upgrading to a better cam and intake also.
