My Car is Sputtering...HELP

My Car is Sputtering...HELP

I've started experiencing at the beginning of this week. It isn't on any particular RPM (i drive 500-2500 tops)that this happens. Its worst at 30mph when I'm in 3rd gear (I now have 3.73s so I can hit 4th doing 25mph).

I'm leaning more towards the fuel pump going bad, but it maybe the car is leaning out on me with it needing to work harder to make the car go normal speeds. I'm also thinking the distributer module is going bad. The cap and rotor only have 5,000 miles on them, but the module is original with 115,000 on it.

Sorry, but I refuse to drive my car over that unless I'm at the track which I haven't been for a couple months. Its my baby and I drive it as slow as possible on the streets.

I was leaning toward the fuel pump as being the likely suspect with the luck I've had with them in my last F-body. I went through 3 in 4 months with my GTA.

Another bit of info I just thought of, It only does this when its being driven around, when its parked and I rev it up, it doesn't do this. But I also know you need more fuel to enter the carb portion to drive it around.

2500rpm? It's been months since 2500 rpm? daaaaammmmmnnnnn.

My friend's S10 is doing something similar. I think it's his injectors, but it's a 2.2l multiport so it's kinda like a miss when it does it. His will do it at idle if he hits the gas fast enough, it does it more on the road because the rpms can't match the pedal position as fast I guess.

You say your thinking it could be the module, could I ask you a question, where are the module's on a TBI car?
