Well, I've finally found a 91 Firebird with t-tops. There is a good possibility I could get the car for $200. I didn't make a mistake, I do mean two hundred dollars. You may be asking yourself "what's wrong with it" so here goes. After checking the history and the body of the car and talking to the owner, it has never been wrecked. It has been parked for over 4 months now because the V6 engine is frozen or messed up. All the oil drained out or something like that. It is an automatic and the tranny still works, it's only the engine that doesn't. After looking at it today, I can honestly say the interior is not bad, just dirty. Even the t-tops are in good shape. I noticed a little rust between the tops on the top of the car but was relieved when it came off by me scratching my fingernail on it. The body itself is in good shape. With a clay bar, wash and wax job, the white paint on this car would look very good. In front of the front driver's side wheel well, there is a dent in the panel but isn't bad at all. There is also another dent right where the rear driver's side sidemarker is; again, that is not really that bad. Other than that, the body is in excellent shape. No rust, not even on the doors. The only thing I didn't get a real good look at was the underbody of the car. There was some grass growing around it. I did stick my hand under and feel along the frame and it felt smooth with no rust. Next time I go I'm definitely bringing a jack to make sure. The interior is also in good condition although much of it would be replaced/upgraded. If I were to get this car it would be my project car. I'd take my time and do it right; probably years and years of work. The reason I put this here is because of what would be in store for it. The V6 would go and I'd like to put a 383 with this on it.

I love TBI too much to give it up. But I'm getting ahead of myself here. I would build ground up. I'd do all of the suspension work first. Probably redo the frame and all the components; I'd also even coat them with POR money permitting. Spohn is gonna love me, lol. After that will be the brake system. I want to go 4 wheel disk. (Baer) I wanted to do the drivetrain second to last but I'll probably have to put in a new rear at this time too. I think it would be smarter having the new rear in with the new suspension work and disk brakes. After that is the drivetrain (including exhaust) and interior, then finally the exterior. I know we all have dreams of doing something like this and for $200 I don't think I want to pass up the chance. I have the area, equipment, and know-how to work on the car. And to keep this somewhat tech. What does a frozen block actually sound like? Two things I did when I checked out the car. I pressed the headlight switch and they both came up smoothly and evenly; I tried starting the car and everything lit up, but when I tried cranking it, I heard a loud knock from the engine and nothing else, not even cranking sound. Thanks.

Sounds like you've got your work cut out for ya. A 383 with dual TBI would be a really cool induction system. I want to see a dual setup in person. I know when I'm older I'm going to be doing an old chevy truck and do TBI with a stroker.
Keep the board updated.

On the Crossfire forum there are a few that are experimenting the Offy cross ram manifold base to replace the oem crossfire intake.
They have fabricated a new top to mount throttle bodies. I think that twin 2 barrel setup would look sweet on the crossram. The retro look of a '69 camaro crossram.

I agree that the crossfire looks like an awesome setup, but my friend is playing the a crossfire in his 84 vette so I wanna do something that nobody down here has ever done before. I will definitely keep this board updated and if I get the car I will have to find some way to post the pics. You will be absolutely amazed, especially for that price.
