anyone else have this problem?

as soon as my gas gauge reads just a little below 1/4 and I get on it from a dead stop it will start to go and then cut out (almost throws my out the front windshiled) and then kicks back in.. it seems like all the fuel goes to the back of the tank and starts sucking air. just wondering if this is normal.

It doesn't look good when your buddy tries to take you in his souped up neon and it cuts out like that!

I have a 93 5.7 in a C2500 medium duty and I took out the spacer under the air cleaner can and installed a tbi power charger from hypertech it is $44. FROM JEGS PART NUMBER 533-4001, it is shaped like a funnel down to the tbi and then you cut out the bottom of the air cleaner base out to about 8 or 9 inches so it sits on top of the new adapter, it makes a big difference in beathing. Then toss the inlet muffler plastic thing and replace it with a sheet metal tube over to the fender inlet , you can get a peice of 6 inch furnace vent from home depot and cut it with tin snips and screw it together at the right diameter and it will slide in between the air cleaner and the fender duct. Then get a K and N filter element pn 599-E-1500 from jegs $35.00 . Truck runs much better and improved milage too!! Thats what I have done and when I get my modded 98 Vortec motor done I will fab up another snorkle and tube over to the other fender . You dont want an open element cleaner on these trucks, I know when I open the hood on mine when its hot it will about knock you down , so I dont want the engine breathing 210 degree air. About that cutting out have you changed the fuel filter yet? Also mine would cut out and I found the plug wires were trashed even though they were fairly new, replaced with MSD pn 121-3141-9 $59.00 , Man Jegs ought to be paying me money!! New wires and no more cutting out. Have fun, Dave

OK mine can be almost empty of fuel and it wont cut out . I have a C2500 ext cab it is the 7200 lb gvw , has 6 lug wheels . I have Z71 wheels on it- had machinist buddy make custom wheel spacers for that mod! and it looks like a 1/2 ton but says C2500 on the side , confuses people! has a lot more load capacity and only weighs a couple hundred pounds more . Anyway Later, Dave

I bet your gas tank is not baffled, I had a 89 Camaro and it did the same thing, mostly around corners, but my 92 came with a baffled tank and it never starves for gas under any conditions, it will suck up the last drop and die with no warning. You may have to get a baffled tank to cure the problem, I think all tanks came with baffles after 90 or 91, you might could find a good one in a junkyard.
