which would be faster?
an l98 topped with the tbi or still with the tpi? assuming both were tuned "right" in the eprom.
i have a chance to pick up a GTA with the l98, wonering howthings stack up between the two systems

If the TPI is in place and your just going to drive it as is, you might as well just leave the TPI in place for simplicities sake.

rockit, this topic has been debated since before this website existed. Do a search on "tpi vs tbi" and you'll cry from all the dead horses being beaten.

The heads would have limited the output on a TPI long block. GM didn't even get to 300 fwhp until the Ycar LT1 and that was using a slightly higher lift cam and (LT1 / L31 style) heads that were much improved over TPI on both intake and exhaust.
