What should i set my timing at?

Mods are in sig and I just installed Edlebrock TBI intake. After the intake the car seemed th ehesitate when idling on its own and the motor pings when I get on the gas at like 1500 rpm. Is this becaust I need to advance a little or what????

If the engine is pinging at low rpm with little throttle opening then you probably need to retard the timing a little. I would start with the factory setting of 0 degrees tdc, then go from there. Go with 2 deg increments untill performance starts to decrease or you here an audible knock then back the timing down untill the knock stops or performance picks back up. If you are using midgrade or premium gas then you could start out at 2 or 4 deg btdc. I'm sure someone else will also have some good ideas as well.

I got less mods then you and I am running 10 BTDC with 89 octane. I think I am running rich due to my 13.5 MPG

brody, are you running different gears than stock or do you just have a bad 02 sensor, which can cause a rich condition?
