Height question

Was thinking of using a Edelbrock RPM Intake, and a adapter plate for my TBI...I am using the stock aircleaner (Modded out), and want to keep using it.....Am I going to have hood clearance problems???????? If so, what do you guy suggest???? I want to keep the stock breather for the time being....If there is a better setup, please let me knoe what you think....Would like to pick up some power, and throtle response......Thanks alot, Tom

Re: Height question

The performer RPM is THE best dual plane intake out there, unfortunatly it's a bear to get under the hood of a camaro. Your best bet is to get some silly putty and see how much room you have obove your air cleaner. You are going to need well over 1.5" of clearance to get the RPM to fit. My brother is running a GMPP dual plane with a drop base air cleaner and a 2" filter and it just clears the hood, the bad thing is this intake is a good 1/2" shorter than a RPM.

Re: Height question

hood space is very very limited i doubt that it would work. maybe a 2 inch cowl hood can be in ur future

Re: Height question

What is good, that will fit with the adapter plate????????? What intake are some of you guys with stock hoods running????? I know this is a beat subject, but I really hope to find a good compromise between height, and performance....I kinda think I want a single plane....Is there any difference in the dual plane versus the single plane with a TBI....I know that on a carbed motor a single plane will kill some low end power, but be better on the high revs....A dual plane is better for low RPM's and not as good on the high revs....BUT does that apply with fuel injection.....I have read on some of the stickies that it does not seem to matter......Please help in this manner...There is a cowl in my future, BUT that is way off...Thanks, Tom
