For The Love Of *** Help! I've got TBI Issues!
Alright, I'm on the verge of tears here. I work at a machine/engine shop and am building a 355 to dump in my previously 305 equipped IROC. The problem is the restrictive 305 Comp and the TBI unit. There's a 670cfm unit from holley that I'm eyeballing, but besides that, I'm coming up short on decent camshaft numbers and computer-programming possibilities that would allow me a bigger cam. Someone throw me a bone! PLEASE!
Email me at bsrboy@yahoo.com if you want. Thanks in advance.

TP, have you ever play connect the dots? Theres a lot of material on this board if you'll do a search. And by the way, welcome the TGO TBI board. I don't mean to sound mean but theres a lot of info in here if you will just look around. As far as your cam selection goes you want to keep the lobe separation angle at 112 or higher. Even 112 may be pushing it. Don't go to wild on the duration either, idle is a problem with low vacuum that you get from too big of a cam.

Thanks guys - and yea, I did look around - but it seems that 2/3 of what's posted is heresay or just chit-chat. I was looking for facts.

its here trust me, ive seen these questions answered many times since i came here years ago.
Keep searching, most wont have exact scientific answer, but there are cams etc, there a comp xtreme energy cam that works great for 305, im sure there is a 350 version that would work great too, comp cams should be able to set you up with a perfect cam if you give them the rest of your engine specs and expectations.
as for tbi, try you smaller one first, it will suprise you, if you want larger, the only options are 454tb or holley's. I still have a design, that im too darn broke to have built. 1000cfm. its probably never happening so i would stick with holley or 454.
