Edelbrock TBI intake. A used LT1 cam works very well in the TBI cars. If your going to change the heads too you can run the LT4 hot cam otherwise I recommend the LT1 cam. Get the LT1 valve springs too. You can find the cam on ebay or on the other boards classifieds for well under $100.

First off shorty headers on a 305 IMHO probably isn't the best setup. The shorter the tubes the higher the RPM is when you reach your peak. And the 305 isn't known to be a spinner. Also the Edelbrock TBI intake is not exactly a prime candidate for a high revving engine. the LT-1 cam however is a good choice. You will need Chip work as TBI motors don't accept cam swaps very well. You will get your rough idle but it will be rich as $hit. I would reccomend performer or performer RPM if you are he11 bent on your shorty headers and maybe a little longer cam than the LT-1 would help too. But with all that you WILL! need chip work to get the full potetial of your setup
