Re: is it worth it?

What are you palnning on doing? anything will help out but it depends on how far you want to go. Otherwise, I myself would just build a larger cubed motor.

Please see TBI buildup on the home page. How deep do you want to get into it? fail to plan, plan to fail.

First.....welcome top the board. You will lots of good people willing to help.

You need to be more specific and realistic on how much power you want. If you want say 300+ hp, best to go the TPI route. If you are looking for an extra 30 or 40 hp over the stock 170hp there are mods that can be done.

Re: is it worth it?

go home TPI boy, TBI is just as capable of making power as TBI. It's been discussed to death on this board, you'll gain nothing but 20 ft/lb over 1000 rpm in the bottom range and lighten you wallet enough that you could have made a ton of power with TBI.

To the original poster.....please please read the stickies. All the information you need is already posted in those threads at the top of the forum.

Actually the TBI setup will out-torque a TPI in the low end torque game any day of the week. I've dyno proven it on more than one TBI to TPI swap. Where the TPI excells is where the runners resonate which is around 3,200-3,600 rpm.
