Is anyone using an older Coil in Cap HEI with thier TBI engine ?
I remember reading about someone who did a TBI swap on an older SBC and was using the Larger / Earlier "Coil in Cap" computer controlled HEI. Has anyone done that or does anyone have some info on it?
From what I remember, the Larger HEI that the guy used was a 5 pin module type which has the spark retard capability. I have a brand new computer controlled HEI and I wanted to keep it for a spare after making a harness for it. (just in case of a breakdown etc).
Any info would be a big help. I know i had it bookmarked but can't seem to find it.

it was posted by onebad89rs and when I asked him for the diagram it went like this: basicaly all you have to do is take the stock control module off your stock dist. and the 2 prongs that stick off go to the ignition pickup coil on the distributor, attach 2 wires to the prongs, and splice them into the corresponding wires on the new HEI. the outside prong goes to the white pickup wire, and the inside one on the green. the 4 wire connector still has to go to the oem harness, and the 2 wire harness that has a pink and white wire that went to the remote coil gets power to the pink wire and ground to the white wire. then simply install the distributor and put the ignition power and tach wires on the cap and your set.

so i attemped this got it it runs amazing but im having one issue, the fuel pump wont prime and starts up like its fully carburetor in the winter! i was curious if urs does this to after switching the distributor or if one of my wires r connections r just poor. i also have the base timing set at 4 degrees advanced which is stock because im trying to pass emissions.
