I found this on Weiands site, the LT4 we are using is a little bigger. How much more you think we are gaining? And I'm thinking that they have a really nice setup to get such a smooth A/F ratio (bottom graph)

Second question is, what do you think we could run?

Ill say one thing, they got that holley tuned in pretty good.
Are you planning on hitting the dyno any time soon?

No my 142 hasn't arrived yet, I'm a few pieces away......
You agree on the carb tuning huh? It's REALLY flat for a carb. That carb guy must have spent alot of time tuning it.
Plus I still need to get a T-56, I'm thinking that my T-5 Will go POP if I push it with this motor.

Re: V8Astro Captain... how much higher do you think we are?
Thanks for posting that. The graph confirms my hunch. I've found that the engine "feels" the best around 11.2:1 thru 11.5:1 AFR. The chart doesn't necessarily prove my findings but it says I'm close!
My engine combo is close. They're running L31 heads vs. my L98's, and an aggressive roller cam where I run a production LT4 cam.
My experience with other cars on the dyno (I used to be a Dyno Jet driver) tells me I'm somewhere close to that figure. I'm probably down on the peak HP but I would like to think the TQ is near that figure. When my engine gets to 4000 rpm it's easy to lose traction in 2nd gear (pizza cutters in back).

The cam I am going to run is:
Specifications 219/228 @.050, 525/525 with 1.6 rockers. Lobe Seperation is 112 degrees.
I'm thinking with proper tuning I can be atleast 30hp above them due to the cam bieing a little bigger and the 062's having 2.0"I valves.
Still waiting to hear what people think the 1/4 mile time will be.....
Hey Captain, are your heads studed or threaded?

My heads are 083's with screw-in rocker studs and guide plates. I run Pro-Magnum 1.52 roller rockers. The valve springs are Comp 983's with 10° locks and retainers.

At what point does someone need to go to screw in studs?

Re: V8Astro Captain... how much higher do you think we are?
Depends on who you ask. Some here will tell you do it because the press-in studs are crap. I think any time you run a heavier than stock spring it's a good idea. Press-in studs are also know as "pull out" studs for a good reason.
Additional stress is put on the studs when using an aggressive aftermarket cam. So higher spring rates and cam "intensity" are a contributing factor. You've mentioned you have an LT4 hot cam. I would get the heads machined for screw-in studs.
