Holley 670 cfm TBI unit worth it?
Holley 670 cfm TBI unit worth it?
Ehh..what if I can get one for 100 bucks? Should I bother? And is it a simple bolt-on thing? I heard some need computer programming and whatnot.

Im no expert but here's what I think:
I would say that $100 is pretty much the going rate for a used Holley 670 TBI or used GM 454 TBI. You seem to have a good breathing engine except for the TBI unit. So i would say that you should go for it. You've been here a while so im guessing you already know about the injector quality stuff.
The stand alone unit is a simple bolt on....*IF* you get the adaptors that comes with the Holley.
There is a barrel reducer to (somewhat) smoothly reduce the 2" Holley barrels to the small bore 305 (forgot the size) barrels. The extra height the adaptor adds is minimal. The air cleaner will push into the sound deadener on the hood but not actaully touch the hood.
There is also a electrical connector for the injectors that you have install.
It shouldnt need reprogramming but due to the amount of your mods .... you might want to look into it.

I intend on getting a custom Ed Wright chip once I get all the stuff I have/want in.

I got a used one off a 454 from a friend for $0. but I forget what year it was. I bored out the stock manifold for the 2" butterflys. All the rest bolted right up including all electronics. I don't see a hugh gain because the rest of the engine is still stock except the exhaust. Drivability is fine and when you floor it, it sounds like you'll suck the hood right thru the intake. The intake roar actually drowns out the exhaust note inside the car. But now the engine is ready for whatever other mods I want to do.
