i have a msd 6a for my 89 lo5 i got the positve and neg to batt. then neg and pos. to the coil, last i have a red wire says to a 12v switch, what to do with that?
then i got a white wire that it says it goes to the distributor points or the cranksensor i think? please help me on this

 

ok the switched wire goes to a power source that is only active when the key is in the on and start position and the white wire goes to the small white wire that goes to the coil you will need to disconnect this from the coil OR just get the gm install kit which is what i would recomend instead of cutting all of the wires
