Hello everyone, this is the first time ive done a cam, i have high knowledge of my motor, as well as mechanical knowledge, but im not sure if i have to set valve lash on a roller cam, i believe not, but i just wanna be sure, and is it hard to dial in a cam, and what steps do you take to dail it in, if anyone has some good strong knowledge please let me know, thanks

You are still going to have to set the valve lash... The only way to get the lifters out to get the cam out is to pull the pushrods (or move them), either way, you loosen the rockers and the valve lash setting is gone..
On a side note, how can you tell if the valve lash is wrong? My rockers are kinda noisy until it gets warmed up (not real loud, but I can still hear them with the hood popped..).. I don't know if I ever got the valve lash set right..
How much ya think a shop would charge to set them right? I might just have that done because I don't want to drive too long on valves that are not set right...

My rockers make noise when I first turn on the car and then when it warms up they quite down.

about the noisey rocker arms, you might not have the at the correct torque specfication, or your lash could be slightly off, id say a shop, would charge you for about 1 and half hours of work, so depending on the rate you might have to pay about $100....
