Understand that this is complete BULL!
Please, if any of you are thinking about bidding, don't. I'd hate to have you think that what this guy is saying is true. You will get better gas milage IF you lean the car, use that piece of **** but you will NOT make more power hence no horsepower or "faster" acceloration. Smoother...maybe, but I would bet that's also bull. The only time these things work is if you have an engine that is running lean, this restricts the amount of air (it IS a restriction) and so you'll actually have a slight gain in air fuel ratio which will produce more power. You'd be much better of investing a little time and making your fuel pressure regulator adjustable and playing with it.
I repeat...do NOT bid on this or I will hit you so hard you'll mistaken your thirdgen for a corvette!

"we have noticed gains of up to 5 hp"
"has a much better mixture distribution to EACH CYLINDER"
I guess what they are trying to say is that it will essentially make the air denser by creating a vortec affect, thus increasing the amount of air. Don't quite see how that works. Its the turbo charger of the air cleaner.
They said that they made a 15hp gain (130-145) on a toyota. What toyota car is still rear wheel drive? I gotta admit, I don't ride in many toyotas...
I also bet that it makes a neat whirring sound to drown out that coffee can exhaust system on your honda... Or makes a neat sound when the fin brakes off and flies into your throttle and "atomizes in a cylinder"
If ya'll believe that I have a 69 camaro that looks an awful lot like an 89 that you can buy...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that there's very few people that still believe in this. It's been around, in different forms since the 50's. Back then, people knew it was a joke. Still, there's a sucker born every day...

Alright everyone, after reading about all of these kind companies willing to help everyone out, I think that it is my turn to do my part.
Here is what I do to get the extra performance and mpg from my 13 gallon tank. All you do is get some pure cane sugar and dump it in the tank. The more you put in, the better the performance. Like a hyperactive kid missing his dosage of ridiline(sp?) your car will run faster than ever. This has also been shown to raise 87 octane fuel all the way up to 210 octane! I noticed a 2 mpg saving with the sugar. After my car stopped running permanantly I've gotten over 150 mpg through the "coasting process." For better performance you can use things like confectioners sugar which is thinner and runs through the fuel filter better.
Now I kind of feel the need to say "don't do this..." just to cover my *** ...

Oh geez, look- ya want the real deal on a sweet intake? Here's what you do- first of all, take that stupid air filter right off. In the dictionary under restriction it should have a picture of that assembly. Besides, when's the last time you saw rocks and asphalt flying around? Never. Your engine will burn off whatever is left anyways in a natural process called 'cylinder exfoliation'. It's good for it. Then you cut a hole in your hood, get a big funnel, face it forward, paint it and smash it flat so it looks cool and stick it right in the intake. Want even better performance? Wind a piece of coathanger into a spiral and put it inside the thing for that swirly effect. The result? FAST FAST FAST!!! *******-charring, donkey-punching your girlfriend, brain-squeezed-to-the-back-of-your-head FAST!!!
woohoo!!!
What have we learned from all this? I am a complete idiot on way too much coffee AND DON'T EVER DO THIS TO YOUR CAR!! I'm not kidding. No, really- don't.

This was actually quite a hot topic on Chevytalk a while back. Someone asked if it actually worked. However in the end, I think the general concensus was that it didn't and that it ranked right up there with the headlight oil that adds 20HP

You guys forgot the best one.
THE TURBULATOR
It's a little valve on your exhaust that works like a waste gate on a turbo. Man I can't believe how fast it makes your car!!!!! One day I had the windows down and the t-tops off, and the back hatch BLEW OFF!! from all the acceleration. Then my seat back fell into the rear passenger seat and left me laying on my back. I was looking up at the clouds and they just kept getting closer and closer.
I WAS FLYING!!!!! My car went so fast that the lift forced me up about 10K ft. I finally got scared and let off the throttle. I had to do it slowly though so I didn't crash.
I guess next time I'll have to bring a parachute with me.
That way I can go to 20K ft. and jump. Oh yea, and I gotta get a Pilot's License.
Anyone know of a high performance parachute?
AJ
