LT1 cam in L05 TBI Truck (results)

Finally finished repairing damage done by a bad lifter to my engine. I changed the top end from a flat tappet setup with everything roller from a 94 Z28 LT1. Cam, lifters, spider, pushrods, rocker arms. I changed the valves springs before this disaster.

Results:
1. Its running way too rich for some reason
2. Up to 3000 rpm it feels normal (normally this L05 would start dying off at 3500 rpm and be dead by 4000 rpm stock.
3. Pulled very strong from 3000-5500rpm which is as far as I am going to push it until I get some more tuning done.

So gaining at least 1500rpm of usable power is a big plus for me.

Found the no 3 and 4 exhaust rockers were too tight causing raw fuel to be pushed into the exhaust and making it appear too rich. Adjusted the valves and it idles as smooth as stock and revs very nicely. Much more top end that it originally had and no notible loss on the bottom.

It may run rich in OPEN loop(closed-loop will be ECU adjusted leaner all by itself) unil you change your PROM. The lowered vacuum signal from the cam forces the RPM/MAP cell into richer ones. Totally normal behavior for a bigger cam... You'll get better throttle response and MORE power and mileage by changing the fuel and spark tables to match your new combo...
