Intake Q's
I'm thinking about putting an Edelbrock Performer intake on my L03. I searched through some old posts about this intake, but still wanted to clarify a couple things...
(1) Besides looking nicer than my black-and-now-rusty stock intake, would it really help me significantly to put in the new intake? Would I feel a SOTP difference? Could I measure it on a rear-wheel dyno?
(2) I have a 1/2" TBI spacer installed right now. Will I have to remove this for everything to fit (fuel lines to TBI, hood closes)? Is the #3704 Performer really an easy bolt-on, or will I have to do some adapting?
(3) Would this make sense to do in view of my plan to improve my exhaust (SLP headers, Hooker catback) in a couple months?
Thanks for sharing the knowledge...

Check out the post I just put up (Edelbrock TBI...) it answers most of your questions and gives track times.
And no your TBI spacer will not fit under the stock hood with the new intake if you are using the 14X3 filter. My hood almost didn't close.

The TBI performer is a direct bolton. No hassles, has every port for heater, vacuum, power brakes, you name it, it's all in the same location.
As for the butt dyno, you'll probably feel a slight difference if you've got something other than the stock air cleaner. I think somebody said it was good for 1mph and 2tenths in the 1/4 but I'm not sure.
Adjust your fuel pressure accordingly so as not to go lean under WOT.

That intake makes a difference, but only with better heads and cam. The stock intake is more then enough for the stock junk.

OK, another question I forgot to ask, that I didn't really see answered in the past threads I read:
Is the Performer #3704 set up for the EGR or not? I'd kinda like to get the EGR stuff out anyway, so if I have to pull the EGR to install this intake, that'd be cool. If it does have the EGR hook up, is there another Performer that is non-EGR AND still built to bolt onto our TBIs?
----
Also, are you saying that the intake (w/o heads/cam yet) would be *worthless* by itself, or just not a very big change?

Cam I'm running in my 350 TBI is:Crane Compucam#104221(Powermax2030),204/214 Duration @.050",116deg L/C,.429"/.452" Lift.
Using 61 lb 350 Truck Injectors,Ported Turbo City Throttle Body and Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, Edelbrock Performer TBI Intake Manifold,SLP Headers & Y-pipe,Flowmaster 3" Cat-Back,3" Catco Cat,14x3" Open Element Air Cleaner,Hayes Billet Flywheel,T5 trans (soon to be replaced w/Tremec TKO)and 3.73 Gears. Also custom chip from Fastchip(Ed Wright).
I don't think the TBI manifold is available without EGR, you can block it off, but from what I hear, you may get an error code from this unless you have a custom chip that disables it.
Hope This Helps-
