I just recently bought some Heddman hedders for my bird and I rather have someone instally them to make sure the job gets done right, anyways how much should I expect to pay I dont wanna get ripped off
I paid $150 for the hedders so I thought that was a good price but I really wanna know how much to expect to pay for the installation

I payed 150 for mine, to be installed that is. But it took him like 4-5 hours to install over two days becuase he had other work and had to relocate the dip stick.

I did pretty much the same thing, went to my lacal friend-of-the-family guy who didn't know any better. He did the headers, welded in subframe connectors, and put in my posi unit in the same day for $500. Actually, he wanted $450, but he *****ed and moaned so much when I went to pick it up I felt bad and gave him $500. Just like you, the going rate for an exhause shop to do headers is between $400-$600. - Randy

Do it yourself. It's a little harder than doing a catback system but not by much.
Doing a header install is only a PITA when you don't have any help. First thing to do is get everything matted together, sometimes this takes the most time. One word of advice, don't work on it when the engine is hot!

lol that would be recomended not to work on it hot but anyways i really dont think anyone can say they cant do it because the lack of experiance, you have to start somewhere and without starting your just another guy who has no clue, it really is not hard it more of a time thing.
i would amagine though that the shops would charge a arm and a leg for installation

Just don't give them too much beer before and during the install... Wait until it's all done, THEN let your friends get **** faced!

They are a big pain in the *** ... But, seriously, get three friends together, and do it yourself with the assistance of pizza and beer. You'll be proud of yourself afterwards, and you'll be able to spend that money on more modifications.

Heh.. Three friends? I couldn't even imagine having one person help me. They'd all just get in the way. Besides, then you wouldn't get the benefit of doing so many sit-ups from climbing under the car, then getting up, then going under again...

Remember to re-tighten your bolts on the exhaust gaskets after a day of normal driving. Don't go ragging on it your first day out or u might blow an exhaust gasket, which would suck after u just got done putting them on there. LoL. Just better to be safe then sorry.

Ive got those same headers. It cost me $400 to have mine installed, because one of the bolts broke and they had to remove the head to drill it out!
