not sure what kinds of racing checks engine displacement by the serial #'s on the heads, but maybe the previous owner wanted to fool them into letting him run in a smaller class. I personally think it's a bunch of $h!t and they are stolen. - Randy

i just found out that several local tracks have outlawed the use of double hump heads in certain classes, it was obviously an attempt to get it past inspection, the only thing about it is he left the two humps on the heads. they said that the rules specifically said they couldn't run certain casting number heads, and this was they're way around the "rule". this came from a third party, not the guy selling them

So you think an inspector would see gound-off numbers and just let the heads race? No inpsection process I know of would allow this. There has to be a casting number to race... Not a lack of a casting number.

Sounds fishy

I know that most of the big race teams (Nascar) sell off a lot of their heads to a stock car salvage yard in the south (Huntersville,North Carolina).Anyway, a lot of the heads they get have all the numbers and identifying characteristics ground off to keep people (the competition) from finding out what they're doing.

There is a website for this yard.Go to:
http://www.bidracer.com/
Click on the text that says:"click here to go to MuscleMotorParts".
Found out about it in Hotrod Magazine earlier this year.

I still think that it sounds like a scam. I'd be careful if I were you...
