Walbro fuel pump/too much FP at idle
Walbro fuel pump/too much FP at idle
Has anyone had a problem with TOO much fuel pressure at idle with the walbro pump? Can my stock AFPR (it is now adjustable) handle the increased fuel flow at idle? Thanks for help.........bob

sorry man i dont have any advice for you as far as the problem goes.
but, i just have a question concerning the pump...what are the specs? how much was it? where did you get it? i am assuming that i am going to need a higher flow pump pretty soon...

From what I've heard there is no problem using the stock fuel pressure regulator. All the extra fuel just goes back into the tank at a high rate that's all. I just ordered the fuel pump so if I have a problem I'll let you all know. If there is a problem make that one more reason to add to the "why you should burn your own eproms" list

I've got the vacuum adjusted FPR, and it works fine with the Holley 255 LPH TPI pump, which is the same as the Walbro. In fact, when I bought it, it said "Made by Walbro" on it! I coulda saved a few bucks by ordering the Walbro. Oh well. Anyways, your stock regulator should be fine, although I would recommend putting a new diaphragm in the regulator first. They're cheap. Good luck.

JP, I ordered my pump on monday and hope to have it in next week, but I am wondering if it is gonna screw up all that custom prom work I HAD TO PAY for cause I don't burn my own chips. So, definitly add it to the list
as a reason for burning your own. Wish I had just bit the bullet and learned how to do it myself.
Well, maybe the pump will solve the problem and I can be done with this. We shall see.
Thanks for the input everyone.........bob
