looking for power..
looking for power..
a few questions and looking for soem debates also.. i am looking to make some serious power i want around 400 horses.. making it with the tbi isnt easy..
i was wondering if anyone still visits this board that has swapped an lt1 into there f-body how much it cost to get the engine with injection and computer.. could you use the same engine mounts? and did the headers fit and everything.. how much of a hassle i am also wondering how much a shop would charge toput something like that in... i am also wonderign what kind of times to expect out of something like that....
Thanks
Shawn

This would be in the Motor Swap board if you had a better title
, but since you're asking TBIers how the transition would be its cool for now
. The LT1 isn't very different from the older engines. It just has reverse flow cooling and a front mount distributor run off the cam (since the 4thgen glass comes down so fricken far). The motor mounts should be the same but I'm not 100% sure. The exaust will bolt up the same to an LT1. UnderdogRS has been doing an LT1 swap himself over the last couple months.

thanks for leaving it open.. if the lt1 install is to hard how hard would it be to get 400 horses out of a tbi? what will a 355 with a lt1 cam l98 heads still tbi produce in the quater mile??
