How to clean a cam

How to clean the cam lobes like get oil and stuff off, what should i use?

Brake cleaner works pretty good followed by drying with compressed air. Cam removed from the block of coarse.

As long as there isn’t any gunk or caked on oil you are fine. Oil residue won't hurt a cam and you actually want a thin coat on it (for installation and storage).
