Header Installation

Holy **** putting headers on is a bitch. It took us 3 hours just to get the exhaust manifolds off and all the other bullshit that surrounds it.. But my question is that do i need the small metal lines that go into the old exhaust manifolds?? pic included

Re: Header Installation

It is better and simpler to keep the air sistem functional. It is also required in most of the world for passing inspections.

Re: Header Installation

There is most likely nothing you can do with those lines that attach to the old manifolds. Your new headers either came with their own AIR lines, or they didn't. If they did, connect them up to the existing system just as the old lines were. If they didn't, you obviously don't have underhood inspections and might as well just delete that part of the system.

Re: Header Installation

I noticed with my hooker LT's my plugs were a lot easier to change.

Re: Header Installation

Finally got the car up and running but now my problem is that the car is missing. It stalls and flutters with the rpms when you mash it to the floor. I changed the plugs and custom fitted all of them and im guessing its not receiving a good connection? Does it sound like a cylinder not firing or could it be not getting enough backpressure?? etc... My smog pump is disconnected but other than that everything is back up the way it should be.. the only error code going off is the oxygen sensor but its reading fine when i hook it up to the laptop..

Any ideas?

Re: Header Installation

I'm not sure which ones would be messed up? Its weird because when the car first warms up it runs all 8 cylinders fine but when it warms up it stutters and and doesnt want to hardly move. We discovered we had some cracked spark plugs but we fixed them and it seemed to fix the problem until we kept on driving.. My guess is that we bumped the distributer and its running really advanced but its late and I can't check.. And its not arching

Thanks for any help
