TBI porters

i've got an extra throttle body laying around, and i decided that i was gonna play around with it a little, so i started cutting. managed to get a pretty good radius into the bores, so i've decided that i'm going to port my own throttle body. what are you guys using for tools and abrasives when porting your throttle bodies? how smooth do the bores have to be? and what kind of RPMs are your tools turning while working a throttle body?

right now i've got a single speed dremel and a 90* 1/4" die grinder to work with, but im not beyond buying other tools. i used a cutoff wheel for the biggest portion of the lip, then some roloc sanding discs to take it down flat. then i took my dremel, and a sanding drum and created my radius. i "polished" it with a scotchbrite disc on the grinder. i think that this should be smooth enough. what are your takes on this? any input you cvan provide is greatly appreciated.

Re: TBI porters

I did mine the same as you. You can check it out below. It seems to be much better than stock. I run an open element air cleaner also. These mods required more Accelpump when I burned the chip, or i got a lean pop on fast
throttle opening. That kinda proves it flows more air.

Re: TBI porters

My preferred tools were the 1/4 inch die grinder and 3/4 inch sanding drums, even though for knocking the ridge down initially I guess I could see using a solid carbide "tree" for that.
