i just recently bought a 383 engine that was setup for a carburetor. Its an 010 block, and its got an edelbrock performer intake. I'm switching it over to TBI for injection purposes and im having a slightly difficult time finding a TBI intake to fit this block. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: carb to tbi intake
Best bet is to keep the carb intake and use an adaptor plate to mount the TBI unit onto it. This will also allow you get better intakes then ever offered for TBI setups. Adaptor plate can be made or purchased.

Re: carb to tbi intake
Just for reference all small block chevy's use the same heads and intakes, so nothing special there. The only real difference in intakes is with the 87 and up heads and vortec heads of course. The 87 and up head use a slightly different bolt angle on the center 4 bolts which can easily accounted for by grinding on the intake a bit. Vortec heads require a vortec specific intake because the ports and bolt patterns are different.

Just about any TBI to carb adapter will work if hood clearance is not an issue.

That will work. Only thing I don't care for is that the bores are offset. I prefer to center the bores over the plenum.

Re: carb to tbi intake
I used to have a 87 s-10 with a 400 small block in it... I had an edelbrock aluminum intake manifold on it that was made for carb'd applications... The motor was TBI and here's how the setup looked with the adaptor plate... So you might be able to get away with just using an adaptor plate instead of buying a completely new intake manifold...

Re: carb to tbi intake
i bought the cheapest one summit had. careful that your bolts to the tbi dont co through the adapter and into metal intake manifold. drill out or cut your bolts short or you'll bend your adapter like me... OR get the alum thick holley one that is better. used to have 2, sold em before i bought this number 2 camaro. damnit.
