380hp/350ci TBI

i havent been on in a while, but i knew damnwell where to go for a tbi question.
please read what this guy has to say about this engine my brothers going to look at and consider buying for a swap. as this guy speaks i feel like doing the thing wil smith does in robots... "aaaachu!! im sorry, im allergic to bull$h!t".

its in a 94 chevy truck. anything i put in ","s is something he said. i apologize he doesnt know how to punctuate.

--"380 hp 350ci"

then i poked and prodded about the stock looking intake manifold, iron heads and rusty valve covers.

--me: manifold was designed to breath for a small cammed truck engine.

--"bull **** nothin i had a throttle body spacer put on and its got the gibson (muffler back) and a 350 crate lets see that 340 just motor and anothr 25 to 30 with the gibson and the body spacer another 15hp"

--"a 350 puts out it right at round 290 give or take 40 hp but with the exaust the space and the port and polish its en EST 380 hp and your wrong a space gives at least 25 depending on the size and bore of the space"

i then followed with:
--i would recommend google-ing 350ci hp ratings. you'll find that a naturally-aspirated (ie: w/o a nitrous, supercharger or turbocharger set-up), stock bore and stroke, well-built, money-invested 350sbc, 380hp is out of reach.

EDIT: i forgot to mention he claims it is a build engine by a company called EDL. i googled edl engines and found an Austrailian high-pressure natural gas engine company

Sounds like its a 350 that would make a good stock core for a rebuild/mild street buildup, but not much else. Id move on...

Re: 380hp/350ci TBI

Looks can be deceiving...My motor in my 93 looks completely bone stock too, but its putting out 450 plus...on the stock intake manifold. Aside from the dipstick being on the drivers side and the valvecovers taller than stock to clear the valvetrain most would assume mines bone stock too. His is probably not what he said it is but you never know...I went out of my way to keep everything looking as stock as possible just to keep people quessing!

Brandon are you putting out the 450+ horsepower through the stock exhaust manifolds?
