Idle all over place will not stay running

Ok, I've only been driving my fbird occassonally lately since its no longer my primary driver and I don't have a good place to park it where I live so I keep it at a relatives house. I try to drive it a few times a month to keep everything from drying out.

The other day I stop at a red light and when it turns green I hit the gas and the car dies. I crank it and was able to limp to the side.

When I crank the car it cranks up correctly jumps to just over a grand like it has always done. Then the RPMs will start jumping between 1k and 300ish and some times the car will stay running but most of the time it stalls immediatly. When I put it in gear most of the the time it dies instantly. I did get it to move the car a little but it was like it was a Brigs and Straton trying to pull a 3000 lb car. Or like you are trying to drive the car from a stop in 3ed gear.

Once I got it towed to where I am keeping it. I started going through things, it seemed that it might be the MAP sensor since it seems to run a little better with the MAP sensor disconnected. However replacing it didn't help.

I have been getting EGR codes for about 2+ years now, but haven't replaced it since well I haven't decided if I want to keep the car orginal or go the LS1 direction.

The car has 210k miles on it but has been running pretty good.

Another issue with the car is before I bought a new truck the fuel pump control has messed up. This was about 2 years ago. That is the signal wire that goes to the fuel pump doesn't provide 12 volts. It's not the relay, but the control wire to the relay, so I have the relay on a toggle switch to crank the car is running can turn off the toggle switch and the oil pressure circut will keep the fuel pump running. I have traced the control wire back to the computer so I don't know if its the computer going bad or what.

I am starting to think it might be the fuel pump not providing enough pressure and the car is running lean or maybe the EGR valve is stuck open and there is too much vaccum leaking out of the manafold.

My other thought is the Ignition control module. I haven't changed anthing on the car in a while so unless the timming just sliped out it shouldn't be the timming.

At first I was wondering if the torq converter had locked up and wasn't allowing the engine to spin up but the more I messed with it the less I think this is a possibility.

I am thinking I should buy some type of fuel pressure gague as my first test but was hopeing someone might have a better idea what was wrong.

One other thing with the car running and the air cleaner open it sounds like it is sucking way too much air. It sounds like an air line leak on a compressor, its always been a little loud but its alot louder now.

Not sure if this is related or not.
