well there is no timing belt its a chain
ya you could change the timing chain to a double roller you would not want to use the stock old one of your 305 there are plunty of things you can change.

Lets See is the motor in the car? If its not. You can check the Timing Chain, That would be a good idea.. If i had the motor Out of the car. I'd At least do a Minor rebuild. Rings, bearings, seals. Other than that How many miles on the transmission? if over 150,000miles. It wont last another 25,000 miles.
Yea, Changing the Fuel Filter would be Wise.. Lift The injectors.. I did. 1/2", I made 3, 1/2 Blocks in a Metal Trades class. However I used a Oil resistant/heat protecting Plastic.

Re: The popular 305 to 350 swap
I would not necessarily say that is the case on a well maintained 700r4, if you don't get stupid with it. My stock 700r4 had 150K on it when I added power to my 305 and converted it to TBI. It had 200K on it when I put a 300 HP 350 in place of the 305. I finally rebuilt it at 265K miles when it started to flare a little going into 2nd @ heavy throttle.

There are 216 000 kms on the car, but i am changing the transmission filter as we speak. I just don't want to spend a pile of money on it if its going to break. Maybe I should just wait for a 5.7. How many more horses will I get??

The best/professional Engine Builder can build 2 or 3 engines with the same exact tools, same exact specs. and they will have diffrent power bands..
No body can tell you what you'll make. If they can. Thats what i call a Scam. "Put this pill in your gas tank and gain 20hp. or 20mpg" Thats BS. remember that?
Do what i did, take what ya got. make it better, by reading up on all this info here, and when you think you got everything all set take it to the Dyno and see what ya got. Ive been doing this for 3 years, same car. and Still tuning. Its called having a Budget.
If ya want 350 HP by the weekend... call up jegs.

Not exactly what I was looking for. I just want a ballpark estimate on what gains I may be expecting, some ppl here for sure has done this mod, just wondering what gains may be expected.
