at the moment my 91 rs is running like crap. it's dumping fuel like crazy. it;s throwing two codes. one of the the vss and the other for the IAT sensor. I have ordered the parts to fix both of the problems. my question is...what exactly does the speedo sensor and IAT input actuallty control? i know the VSS controls the lock up and speedo and cruise contril. does it control the timing advance as well? the car seems to stumble a few RPM at idle and is dumping fuel . I was just wondering if fixing these two probs will make it run smoothly.

replace the sensors and see what happens. check grounds

 

I just replaced my VSS yesterday after not having a working speedo for like 7 years. It was really nice to have a working speedo again! I doubt it would have anything to do with your fueling issues.
