My Intake options?

I'm currently running a bored out small block tbi and want to change my intake. I'm running a edelbrock performer carb manifold right now and its giving me problems sealing between the adapter and the tbi (vacuum leak) also half of the bolt holes have stripped out threads. I dont think I want the holley projection one becasue I'm looking for low end power and torque. My main 2 options are to take my stock tbi intake and have it bored out to 2'' or to get a edelbrock 3704 tbi manifold and have it bored out. I have searched plenty and some people say you can bore out the 3704 and some say you will run into the water jacket . How much worse is the stock one over the 3704, keep in mind this is going on a mildly built 383 maybe 330hp and 400tq, also no egr.

Re: My Intake options?

330 HP is NOT mild when dealing with TBI. You would be wasting your time with any of the low RPM intakes as you can't make that much power on a 383 and do so at a "low" rpm. A performer RPM intake would be ideal as it makes the same bottom end power as the performer but makes much more power on the top end. If this is in a camaro you'll have hood interference problems. Your other option is to go with one of the low profile single planes as they make as much HP but only give up a little torque.

If you don't mind me being nosey...what are you doing for tuning on this combo?

What part of the tuning are you looking for? Its a mild built 383 with sportsman heads. Running a bored out cfm-tech tbi, 90# injectors and I'm still trying to learn how to use winaldl to get running just right. Also I have had tbichips.com burn me a few different chips to get it close.

Re: My Intake options?

Just FYI,

You can indeed bore the Edelbrock TBI intake to 2".
