Tiny o-ring on side of injectors, what is it?
Tiny o-ring on side of injectors, what is it?
I bought a junkyard TBI unit to rebuild for my L03, and sent the injectors into Witchhunter for cleaning.
When they came back they came with a baggie with 2 very little rubber (1/8" diameter or so) rubber o-ring/plugs in it.
After looking at the injectors for a while I realized these must go in the small holes on the side of each injector.
Does anybody know what these are? I have a factory manual that shows how to rebuild a TBI unit and replace the injectors but it doesn't mention these or show them in the parts diagram.
The AC Delco TBI gasket kit I got didn't come with these, do the kits from NAPA or other suppliers come with them?
Thanks,
Paul T.

They should be a fine strainer. Those holes are a vent to bleed out vapors & such. Some years ago the rebuild kit came with those strainers. This was a full kit which also included the FPR diaphragm.

Thanks RBob, that makes sense. I should warn others away from buying the AC Delco TBI rebuild kit, for around $35 all you get is the gaskets and basic o-rings, no FPR diaphram and none of these fine strainers. It looks like for less you can get a much better kit from xtremefi's ebay store or with a NAPA kit.
