intake manifold

i was wondering what this parts is let me try to discribe it ok its on the intake manifold but its in the back its behind the tbi unit infront of the dis. cap i broke my vacuume lines when i put the 350 in its also a tbi. i was just windering what its is for it looks like a hose hooks up to it but im not sure if its for a vacuume line please anyone help thank you

Can you take a picture. I don't think its the egr. The egr is more off to the passenger side. I believe its a vacuum source. I think the heater hooks into it. Does your heater work right? It will still work, but you wont be able to switch from vent,floor, or defrost. Its will be stuck on one setting. I think the cruise control uses that port as well. But I could be wrong. Is there a plastic vacuum line coming out of the wiring harness on the passenger side of the engine not hooked to anything? Don't confuse it with the egr lines.

umm yea its not the egr ummm i had broke all the vacuume lines off when i replaced the motor they were old and they were plastic go figure lol well i got all new ones off another car but i forgot to look at that one. like i said i hooked all them back up im just not sure if i need that one or anything i caped it off though i havent driven the car yet sooo i just want to make sure if i need that one like isaid its right on the back of the intake manifold any help will be nice thank you

Oops. I'm not sure why I typed hard plastic line, thats funny. Plastic that is hard hmmmm, I fixed it though. If you want to leave it capped off it shouldn't hurt anything. But like I said your heater won't work right.

ok so its for the heater?? thats ok its summer time anyway lol i just wanted to make sure cause like i said i broke all the vacuume line wheni took the motor out they weer just old and ya know how that **** gets its so brittle?? do you also know how to time a car by the dis. ??? cause the kid i bought the motor from it wasnt even the right dis. so i had to take it out and put mine in ??? anyhelp thank you

Try here, also I recommend getting a distributor wrench, its easier than a regular.
