Re: Spend my money!

i suggest either gears and limited slip diff (if you currently have an open diff) or full exhaust.

Re: Spend my money!

Go grab an LS1 rear end [3.42 gears] from a junk yard and get exhaust.

Re: Spend my money!

#1 replace all the exhaust
#2 rear gears to 3.23/3/42
#3 tuning. IE-prom tuning

Intakes, heads, cams don't bother. Get these 3 items done and you will be able to tell a difference. It will increase the fun factor and mpg if done correctly. I remember adding a full exhaust when the engine was stock and my mpg went up on avg. 2-3.

Re: Spend my money!

Headers and a full exhaust will run just about a grand new, depending what you get. This will be the easiest and best performance gain that you can do. Open element air cleaner. Is the car tuned up. Cap, rotor wires and plugs add about another 100. Get on the EBL wagon soon so you get up to speed with tuning for future mods. Gears would be next.

Check out the classifieds and ebay to see what you might get a good deal on. Any of the above suggestions are good, but you might be at the right place with the right money to catch some deals.

I got header, e-tecs, a GMPP manifold already bored, LT-4 hotcam, etc. for my current project. If bought new, I would have spent an easy 600-700 more.

Re: Spend my money!

Alright. Heres what I decided. Full exhaust. Headers into a Y pipe through a high flow cat to a high flow muffler. I hear the cross flow is junk. Open elelment and a tune. Ill leave it at that because when I find my 350 block in the fall that can go right onto it. Now, what exhaust brand names and set up does everyone reccomend? I realize im trying to get as much flow as possible but it cant rumble like no tomorrow. Must have a nice deep tone and a decent roar but not to loud. Remember its a daily driver.

I already has a Limited slip and im probably going to bump the gears to 3.42 or maybe even higher, but I'll see.

Thanks guys.

Re: Spend my money!

Hear the dyno don headers are real good [find him on here and message him] But im running Hooker headers and cat back with a cat-co cat and its been good. Happy with the sound I get, not super loud but still can tell its not stock. The hooker 2055s are what most people get. Id check out the dyno don ones though, I kinda wish i did.

Where are you in Pa? Search the exhaust board. The correct answer should take .1 second to be found.
