Re: rpms at idle? search diff. answers

My cars pretty much totally stock right now and I only idle at maybe 500rpm. So yeh that does sound a little high.

Re: rpms at idle? search diff. answers

upon cold start, the rpms on mine are 1200-1500, and slowly drop over about a minute to around 1000. Once I put it in gear, it drops to 800

Once the engine warms up, idle in gear is right at 500, 800 in park/neutral

Doesent sound horrible. If it really bother you, you can get the EBL flash computer [dynamicefi.com] because I know it has a different warm up routine for the computer [soon as you start it it doesent rev up too 1000, it just gets to its normal warmed up rpm] if you want to be cheap, you could try seafoam.

I would pull the IAC and do a cleaning of it along with IAC passage in TB.

I agree, my tbi motor is mostly stock and I'm running 1500-1800 on cold start up, and when the engine is fully warm it usually idles around 500-600 rpms
