Another day another problem
You know how it goes.
Let see if I can explain this. My car was running real rough at idle. My buddy and I worked on her to find out the problem and did the timing and also noticed the intake gasket was leaking. We took the intake off put new gaskets along the with the TB assembly. Once together ran really smooth.
The car still runs smooth once just being started up. Once the car is warmed up and has been driven for a little while it will act up at a stoplight idle. The car runs perfect fine while driving but once at a stop for a longer period of time she will jsut start idleing irratically. The motor will jump up in RPM while the car tries to jump forward then will go back down to normal and repeat this process until I take off again. You can also smell the exhast real strong. I have managed to get a code a couple times now. Code 44 comes up as Oxygen Sensor running lean. When my buddy and I did the intake we also put a new sensor in.
Now, do you think this could be a faulty sensor doing this or somthing else? Also, would the IAC sensor have anything to do with this you think? All help is appreciated.

Quick guess is that there may still be a vacuum leak, that is what I would equate the surging to be. Measure vacuum in closed loop at idle.
