Re: poor performance

Did part of your tune up include checking the timing?

Re: poor performance

Is your check engine light on?
You may want to check your TPS, and your IAC.

Did you change the plug wires as well? Another possibility is having one or two wires crossed unless you changed the plugs and wires one at a time.

Re: poor performance

my engine light isnt on and my plug wires arnt crossed my tps is fine. im not sure how to check the iac but i cant figure out why it idles so high. my vacuum lines are fine but if im doing 60 my car is at about 4000 rpm and it idles at 1500. before the tune up it idled around 800 and could cruise 60 at about 2000 but my timing shouldnt move after a tune up i didnt move the distributor but i changed that cap and wires would that mess with the timing?

Re: poor performance

Yes, changing the cap and/or rotor requires at least checking the ignition timing. I check mine even if I only remove & reinstall the same cap.
